Hi:
I have a friend's Stylus Photo 890 here. The nozzles were very clogged, but I cleaned them with The Pharmacist's formula. Thank you, Pharmacist! The black nozzle now seems to be wide open and same with 4 of the 5 colour nozzles. I'd like to test black-only printing.
According to an AI, you can put this printer into a black-only printing mode when the printer is complaining it's out of ink. However, the instructions to do that don't seem to work. The black cartridge is dried up/empty. Do I need to install a fresh black ink cartridge to change it to black-only mode? Is it even possible on this printer? I just don't want to open fresh ink only to find out it's not possible.
Thanks.
