I have a set of the cartridges you are talking about. I found mine at colorbat.com. They sell an altered version of their photo magenta and photo cyan inks the work better with these cartridges. I have refilled them at least 10 time (Photo c and m, anyways). The front hole is plugged and the rear fill hole is not. There is a metal transfer tube that moves ink from the rear resivoir to the top of the sponge in the front resivior, keeping it moist all the time. I just occasionaly look at the ink levels and top them off after print jobs.

I've refilled my i560 without removing the tanks. The main problem is, if you take too long after opening the cover, the printer gets bored waiting and parks the head while you still have the needle in it...
Other than that, it was no problem.
