Has anyone evaluated Canon's GI-63 bottle inks used with the G660 Megatank printer for refilling the CLI-651 (551, 251 etc depending on region) carts in the IP8700 Series printer? I have been using the GI-63GY for some time and have found it to be just about identical to ink in the CLI-651GY (or equiv) cartridge. I am about to transition to the GI-63 Y, C & M inks as well and will be preparing updated printer profiles for the new inkset. I suspect that the Y & C inks will match without problems, but am uncertain about the M since the standard GI-63 inkset also includes a red ink suggesting that the magenta may be spectrally narrower than the CLI-651 equivalent. Any experience with these inks out there?

TIA.

EDIT: - the G660 is I believe a G620, 650 or 670 in other regions, and the GI-63 ink is GI-23, 53 or 73. Why does Canon insist on doing this?

If the automated cleaning routine is not successful then clear the cartridge contacts and perform a nozzle check. If the print quality is still not up to scratch you will probably have to replace the print cartridge or printhead.

The reason is that they can use different pricing in different parts of the world. If you live in a rich country you are probably able/willing to pay more for the products. The regionalizing prevents "grey" import from a region with lower prices. Here is a post with a list of the regions. Compare "Big Mac Index".

I don't know if the inks have been tested with your printer, but please report your results if you test them.
