Please print a nozzle check and post it here; are you using Epson cartridges or do you do refill ?
What is the usage rate for your printer - frequently - regularly or idling most of the time ?

I assume you are reporting the issue on your listed XP-8700 ?

Most time printer is idle.
I use refill type i.e. compatible.

Our of black now due to a head cleaning.
Yellow out of ink so replaced - due to faulty cartridge. Out of black now so cant use! Never ending!!

Not used for 4 months due to printing issues!

Hi @nitsuj1972

Your issue is not to hard to explain.

Note that on your test image about half of the magenta is not runnning on all cyclinders (ends up being light or partial magenta):

Weak-magenta.jpg

On a mostly black and white image, all the CMYK inks are being used to create that grayscale. When the magenta is weak in that process you get a green tint.

As a simple example, I took a B&W test image, made sure Photoshops was in CMYK mode, selected the magenta channel and then erased at 50% strength in the middle of the upper two and lower two images. As you see, a green tint.

Since you magenta is weak on the top and bottom of the test block, each couple paths of the print head there will be a weak magenta stripe across you image creating those green stripes.

You fix the problem with the weak magenta and that green stripe problem will go away. Don't get destracted and focus on fixing the ink path problem with those particular nozzles.

My opinion of course and hope this helps.

Thanks for your help.
I am confused as the Magneta catridge is full.

I'm sure the cause of problem is in the printhead. Some of the magenta nozzles seem to be clogged or defective. If the cartridge were the cause of the problem by causing ink starvation the green stripes would have been wedge shaped instead. See this post for an example of magenta ink starvation.
