Without some sort of auto-reset chip, what good is this?

So, if I'm reading correctly the ebay listing, to use this monstrosity, when the printer warns you of low ink level you have to remove the cart from the printer and reset the chip, which you've had to transfer from the Canon carts to the ones furnished with the CISS. And this means removing ALL the carts dangling from the ribbon tubes. I can't see any advantage to this over using the PrecisionColors system. And then how to you route the ribbon tubing cable? especially since the printer is unhappy if the cover over the carts is opened.

I've got a CISS system for my Epson R1800 which generally is pretty good. No chip transfer,etc, but sometimes the ribbon tubes give a little problem.

I’ll tell how good it is, anyone that would pay $75 for a kit that’s only worth $5 would be absolutely bonkers.

How good is this CISS with or without chips, well it’s as good as a one legged man at an ass kicking contest and he might even fair better than this stupid kit would, in my humble opinion of course..

From my scant observations, whenever the chip is overridden, the printer does two things, it attempts to protect itself and wastes more ink by pulling more ink from the sponge to ensure that the printhead has ink....ends up in the waste ink tank...so fills that up faster. The second is that this process tends to take time and delays the print job. If there is the ability to use an active chip, it is better than overriding the chip. Others may disagree however most know that a CISS on a Canon tends to be finicky as heck and can, if not working properly, be detrimental to the printhead.
