In a studio it becomes easier to control the light. The set up itself is pretty simple. A single overhead light in a parabolic umbrella (medium silver from Paul C Buff) with a front diffusor. The light was boomed overhead and pointed straight down, the model was placed right at the edge of the umbrella, reflector was on the floor at her feet angled up. She about 10' from the black cyc wall. The black clothes was exposed correctly while the background easily went to pure black.

The raw file was processed in Capture One Pro and edited in PS6 and Nik Color Efex 4.

Exported as a tiff for printing through LR5 and the Canon Print Studio Pro

great result and beautiful photo (in addition to a gorgeous model!) Overhead lighting did a great job of picking up the fabric folds that would have been washed out with direct lighting.
