for those who like numbers, quick recap on printer/refill savings:

- 4.5 years of refilling/printing using canon MP830s
- 48,000 pages printed (96 reams of paper)
- on second MP830, first one died after 22,000 pages, swapped in spare MP830, swapped over original print head and carts
- on second print head, first one died after 18,000 pages, second one is at 30,000 pages and still going

- total refill count, 295 ink carts
- PGI5, 140 refills over 4 PGI5s, one PGI5 lasted 70 refills, current PGI5 is at 44 refills
- CLI8's, 155 refills over 4 CLI8s, (31-B, 39-Y,43-M, 42-C)
- still refilling original CLI8's that are 4.5 years old, they keep going and going
- german method, squeeze bottles, hobbicolors ink and resetter

significant refill savings(over $4,000) when compared to the retail cost of 295 ink carts

again much thanks to members of this group and would enjoy seeing other member's numbers

Yes indeed, I've run dozens of 240 mil ink bottles through my Epson 1400 over the almost 3 years I've owned it and each set of the 6 colors saves me well over $2000.00 a pop! I paid $149.00 for the 1400 factory Remanufactured and It's still going. At that rate of money saved I could fill a good size room with Epson printers. I understand that at least in some countries,( not the USA) Epson is selling their own version of CISS. Gee, and after all those years of saying how awful cis systems we're and so bad for the printers. I really don't begrudge a company making money but when they gouge till it hurts I develop a bad attitude in a hurry! I do really like their printers and continue to buy them. Now if they only develop a more realistic and user friendly attitude I'll be their loyal customer for the duration! Outoftheinkwell!

thx for the words, but it's more of a testament to canon's printer and ink cart quality, than to my refilling technique. FYI, my MP830's are all canon refurbished $99 specials, so i have had good luck with canon refurbs.

in order to spread the good word, i have pushed/started 3 others refilling, they are all now amazed how easy to refill using german method and squeeze bottles

here's the nifty-stuff link that i used back in 2007, along with the original German method video(in german)
