- Canon Maxify GXxxxx (Maybe)
Hello,
I have a need to print labels that are fairly durable and water resistant.
I have sample prints from a Epson Colorworks C4000 label printer, which seem perfect for my needs, but of course the cost of one of these (or the C6500) is very high.
The Epson uses Pigment inks and the samples I have are printed on Vinyl or PP material.
I found that most tank inkjet printers only have a Black Pigment ink and the colour inks are dye based.
However, it seems that the Canon Maxify Mega tank GX series printers use Pigment for the Black and the 3 colours (GI56 ink)
My question is this:
If I print labels on a Maxify printer on PP or Vinyl labels can I expect similar results to the Epson label printer? If not, then how good.
I don't want to buy a Canon Mega Tank printer to find out that the results are poor or not what I need and end up wasting my money.
I don't need to print 10s of thousands, just a few hundred a month, in different sizes.
Currently I pay to have my labels printed commercially, but the cost is fairly high, and to get the price per label low I have to have 500+ each time. Plus the time delays etc.
Any ideas or thoughts about this? Anyone on here printing label using Pigment ink printers?
Thanks
Paul
