Is the printer still working ? did you open the printer cover at any location for some reason ?

Do you somewhere see a hole, an opening in the cover where that part would fit - e.g. a window for a display ? If not I just would leave it as it is, just use a piece of tape and stick it to the back of the printer, you may find that location later.

yes printer working, but leaves white shades

Please print a nozzle check and post a scan here to show the 'white shades'
surprisingly, there are no gaps at all. But afer third time cleaning head, and now from to start at the beginning everything is black

You have black spotches at the edge of the paper - can you check how the cleaning unit looks - is there any pigment smear ? You can disengage the printhead by powering off and on the unit and pulling the power cable when the printhead starts moving.

Are you trying to print on CD ? I don't think that would work, you cannot raise the platen gap that much.

I have a beat up ET-2750 in the workshop that hasn't been thrown out yet. I'll try to remember to take a look tomorrow and see if I can spot where that plastic bit has sprung from.

ok

Have gone through the ET-2750 I have here and the only place I can find plastic like that is protecting the tubing for the CIS system and it's a longer piece so not much help I'm afraid.
