thats not really a comparison
the b9180 is not available anymore since its EOL
also b9180 is a pigment based printer
and the L1800 based on the 1500W a 6 color dye printer

reasonable cheaper would be to hook up a 1500W to a CISS and print

also the 1500W mainboard could be exchanged to the L1800 mainboard this part is called formatter board

if you changed it the printer will be recognized as the L1800 which will render the CSIC so the chip recognizion off so you dont worry about running out of ink "chip" wise

EOL - end of life

I think it would help to know what your prime intentions are with this printer - photo prints . posters - and what your estimated print volume would be, and are you planning to use 3rd party inks - via refill, CISS ? The L1800 natively runs with dye inks, like the 1500W, there are other Epson printers with pigment inks R3000 (EOL now) , Surecolor P600, R2000 as the successor of the 1900 as the successor of the 1800, I'm less familiar with the A3 Canon printers, there are as well dye and pigment ink units offered

1. yes i will use ciss for printing.
2. now i printing around 20-50 posters A3 in month.
3. monthly i printing around 150-200 pictures (A4,A5,8X6).

Butm how U can check i have HP 7110 and some times i have problems with repeatability, namely if i printing 20 same posters every one is a little in different place on sheet, i hope u know what i mean.

o.k., I'm not familiar with theHP7110, are you using dye inks or pigment inks? 3rd party/refill dye inks are not very stable against light/ozone/UV radiation if your posters are placed for a longer time into those conditions, pigment inks perform much better in this respect. But there is always a caveat - the combination of a particular ink brand with particular papers and surfaces can give very good print results or not - in respect to typical effects like gloss differentials between inks and the surface, and bronzing that some inks change their color under light reflections. And when using 3rd party inks and papers I need to advise strongly to work in a color management environment with calibrated/profiled devices - monitor and printer. I cannot recall any paper positioning problems reported with Epson or Canon printers in this printer class, that should be a no-issue unless you use very special media like fabric, very thin films or whatever. So some printer models are put up for discussion which not only differ by ink type - dye or pigment, but as well by price, you are spending the money.

Out of curiousity I searched for reviews and information about the B9180, because years ago I was interested in this printer. Original price was more than 500€ and it was HP's competitor to epson's A3 desktop photo printers, a big and heavy one with interesting features.
I don't know anything about reliability, but there were very positive reviews.

So this might be a disregarded perhaps under estimated printer, which now could be a real bargain on ebay...
