A well known fellow in the printer world (Jose Rodriguez) last week mentioned that the inks from the Pro 1000 and Pro 2000 carts can be harvested and used to refill the Canon Pro 10 carts. (excepting grey) I ask this because I never heard him or any others mention this before. Do any of you use Pro 1000 OEM inks in the Pro 10? I have been harvesting the Pro 1 inks but the Pro 1000 and Pro 2000 have much more ink in them. Thanks-

José regularly mentions OEM large format carts as ink source, without more details, suggesting it is on your own risk and you didn't hear it from him ;) .
PRO-10 has 10 inks and lacks the PRO-1000/2000/.. blue (B) and photo grey (PGY).

Precision Colors harvests Red from large format carts (probably the 700ml PFI-1700, but there are smaller sizes) to complement his PRO-10 inkset (claiming the color is the same). BTW for his PRO-1000 inkset he replaces also B,Y and CO with OEM.
The inks are technically compatible with the printhead but according to Jose Rodriguez you will need custom profiles. In this case you should not have problems with GY either IMO.
According to Canon the successor PRO-300 uses the same Lucia PRO inks.

Thanks for this info. Custom profiles are a bit more than I want to do so I will continue to harvest ink from the Pro 1 which is a perfect match. Just less ink in cart. BTW, I have tried both 'dark' gray and gray of the Pro1 and both work fine. Jose recommends the 'dark' gray instead of gray though to refill the Pro 10.
