I have been using this machine off and on since I bought it new in 2004.
It has served me well making beautiful prints both in color and b & w.
For many reasons I have not been able to print on it for a long period of time and the ink needs replenished.
I recently purchased 110ml ink factory cartridges from three different vendors. I was successful in obtaining 7 of the 8 carts needed.
I am missing Light Magenta T5436. Of course Epson is no longer supporting this printer. I have unsuccessfully scoured the internet.
Okay. My question is can 3rd party T5436 Light Magenta be used with the factory carts?
Anyone have any suggestions? I can't fill my own carts for lots of reasons. I would buy 3rd party ink if it came highly recommended
and eventually replace all carts.
Thanks for any help

Where are you located - I still see 3rd party ink suppliers offering cartridges for the Pro 4000, and there should not be a problem to mix Epson and 3rd party cartridges in a printer. But before you go and buy new cartdiges you should check your printer - running a nozzle check and cleaning cycles to get the printer in a working condition.

Edit:

I'm in the St Augustine FL area. Thank you for taking the time to help on this problem. I brought the printer "back to life" by running cleaning cycles and manually cleaning the printhead many times. I'm getting decent test pages and am ready to resume my spring print binging. Enter the Light Magenta ink problem. I wonder if you (or any other members) can steer me to a reliable 3rd party printer ink supplier where I can purchase the Light Magenta cart I need. Again - thanks.

You may try inkjetmall.com. They sell ink that is very compatible with Epson.

I'm in Germany and not so familiar with the market in your country, but here is a link for an Epson cartridge, and I would assume there are more suppliers available.

www.amazon.com/-/de/dp/B00006HXL7/ref=sr_1_1?__mk_de_DE=%C3%85M%C3%85%C5%BD%C3%95%C3%91&keywords=epson%2Bpro%2B4000&qid=1583477010&sr=8-1&th=1
Thank you for this tip. I tried Amazon many times but never saw this post. There are still a few places that have epson ink for the 4000- but - they didn't have any the Light Magenta cart when I was checking. I purchased this and it will delivered today/tomorrow.

Thanks for your lead on this. I'll try Inkjet Mall when I make the switch from Epson to 3rd party inks.
