Hello,

I lately have been researching on replacement ink for my r220 and i just cannot seem to be certain on what to get, its been hard to find any information to get some reassurance on what to order. What i am looking for is about the most affordable with reliable quality that can be ontained. My r220 recently depleted the G&G ink that i bought off meritline i dont believe they sell those still, however it was my first experience with 3rd party ink and it was better than i expected. At the time i bought it meritline had great specials on these inks but now thats over.

So i am asking for experienced users out there from this great forum for suggestions of what to get. I looked into CIS and it seems very economical pretty much to the point that it gives the inkjet that longevity benefit of a laser, although not without set up/maintenance hassles it seems. I have also looked at ebay for more affordable off brand ink and came across these that are amazingly 10$ shipped for a pack very nice! http://cgi.ebay.com/6PK-NON-OEM-ink...trkparms=65:12|66:2|39:1|72:1234|293:1|294:50 All i need to know next if the ink is reliable and not going to clog etc, if it is decent this will certaintly be my choice. The best input i could get of this ink is from the feedbacks of the seller where i recently saw several purchase of this and buyers saying "great item.." etc along with the + feedback, but i would like more insight if i could get it.

EDIT: I dont really print photos with this printer atleast not yet maybe but used predominantly for documents and discs
Thanks in advance for any help

Even though others don't like it here I like stratitec ink, works great with my canon. Also comes in gigantic 500 ml bottles so if you need lots of ink they're probably the easiest source to just buy bulk ink, though strangely enough you can also buy 6x85 ml bottles for the same price and you get the convenience of smaller sealed bottles until you're ready to use it. Colors are pretty accurate once you customize the color balance adjustments, and after using different papers too you realize that their are color shifts even between papers. I tried G&G replacement carts and the ink though bold and bright didn't quite match my screen no matter how I adjusted it, magenta always came out too red, cyan too blue, greens too dark, etc., etc. Stratitec with adjustment spot on, and with quality paper I gave up on endurance testing after 4 months of direct sunlight exposure, barely faded at all.

Thanks for the responses, stratman i never saw that and it sounds like the best way to go! However when i search image specialist ink in ebay i see the bottles for refilling, but none of them look intended for the r200 series?

I second the suggestion about IS ink from mikling. Pretty good ink and great prices. I currently use it in my IP4500 with great success! But I didn't know about IS when I had my R220. Back then, I used to buy supplies from Ink.manufactory (http://stores.shop.ebay.ca/ink-manufactory) at a great price, with good color balance (little tweaking) and a clog-free running printer. They are, in fact, rebranded Skyhorse cartridges. Never had a problem with those. Hope this helps!
