Although there doesn't seem to be any posts about this for a while I thought I would post it anyway.
I bought the printer from a company that went belly up a little while ago and just had to refill the ink pots.
It took me a while to work out how to disable ink monitoring using the printer (I use linux no pretty driver gui).
This site popped up all the time as I was searching for a solution.
Hope this is a help to anyone.

1. Turn on the printer
2. Wait for the ink level error message
3. Press the Cancel/Stop red triangle in a circle button, KEEP FINGER ON THE BUTTON through the next steps.
4. Press ok in the middle of the LCD screen arrow pad.
5. Press either one of the Start print buttons. Either the white line in the white diamond for black and white or green line in green diamond.
6. The printer should copy a blank page (if you have nothing on the platen)
7. Sending signals to the printer should now allow it to print as normal.
