Can anyone tell me how to print envelopes with the Canon MP780 without the ink smearing everywhere? No matter what I seem to do, it smears. I have tried using less exposure, thick paper setting, cleaning the bottom plate, just about every setting I can think of and nothing seems to help. Every time I print an envelope they come out badly smeared and globs of ink on the envelopes.

Help??????

I have printed lots of envelopes without problems.

You do feed them correctly, right? Are you using the cassete feeder or the ADF? Did you try "prevent paper abrasion"?

I have tried loading the envelopes both with the ADF and the cassette feeder. I followed the instructions on how to load. No matter what I do, they come out smeared with ink all over.

I don't know what you mean about 'prevent paper abrasion'. I have looked it up in my manuals and looked for it on the machine but I don't know what setting that is.
