My MP-610 seems to have died with the ubiquitious 'U052 The type of print head is incorrect' error.

I have tried all the normal options for cleaning out the print head, washing in warm water and soaking in isopropylyalchol but no change still get the same error. Can't even get into service mode properly with this fault. Rather a shame because at last count this printer had only done less that a thousand pages from new.

Is this definitely dead as it seems or does anyone know of a solution.

The only solution to your problem is a new print head unfortunately because that error (U052) relates to an overheated temperature sensor, and if leaving your printer turned off over night doesn’t reset the sensor than nothing will sorry.
