Hi all,

I am here with the dramatic error 1403/1405 on my Pixma MG 7550. :(

Since it has no physical buttons as the older Canon printers, the usual trick with On/Stop buttons (5x) is not applicable.

I am able to extract the front colored bar carrier and remove the printhead.

What then what can I do, please?

Is there a way to perform a hard reset on these MG7000 serie, kindly?

Thank you!

The Hat,

@elsa, I reckon your print head has developed electrical problem and is more than likely damaged beyond repair, you could try a last-ditch attempt to save it by removing the head and then refitting again..

The error code 1405 may indicate a faulty logic board also, so a new print head may not fix the problem but may make matters worse, a new printer will probably cost the same as a new print head, sorry..:(

Thanks for your reply.

According to the Canon web site https://ugp01.c-ij.com/ij/webmanual/ErrorCode/MG7500 series ....

that error 1405 is about the printhead, not the motherboard. Other models with physical buttons got that tweak with On/Stop buttons and often fixed the same error.

So:
1) does it exist a hard reset for buttonless Canon printers?
2) why changing the printhead should make matters worse?

Also there are no MG7550 on the market right now and neither other Canon printers using those cartridge models (PGI-550 CLI-551).
