Hi,

I recently acquired a Canon Pro 1000 printer. For the most part, it's been doing a commendable job, but I've recently encountered a puzzling issue that has left me scratching my head.

Up until now, I've had no trouble with small prints.

Ten A2 prints have been relatively problem-free.

However, today I stumbled upon a perplexing problem. The original photo, a scan from a medium format transparency, appears flawless on screen (crop attached) with no visible lines. Yet, when I print this particular shot, lines emerge, primarily in one corner, predominantly affecting the blue tones.

What's curious is that these lines seem to run horizontally, specifically in the left-hand corner that emerges first (as I face the printer). While they do extend slightly to other parts of the image, their prominence remains localized.

I decided to conduct a little experiment.

I flipped the image upside down on my screen and reprinted it, anticipating the lines to appear in the corresponding corner. Surprisingly, this wasn't the case. Even with the image reversed, the lines persisted in the same position, leaving me puzzled.

It appears as though the issue might be embedded within my file, yet it remains elusive to my naked eye.

Has anyone encountered a similar issue?

Thanks

First image shows the corner of the print.

Second is a screenshot showing same section of file.

Following up on my previous post ... additional update ...

I decided to print another A2-sized photograph, also captured on film and scanned, utilizing the same printing setup and parameters.

Despite featuring a blue section similar to the problematic print, this new print emerged flawlessly, devoid of any lines.

In case anyone is interested, or has an answer .... here is a small print of the same image. Everything OK. No errors on any size paper since the problem above.

OK.
Because the printer is unknown to me ....
I ran a print test .... and PM failed.
The procedure for cleaning the print head was followed.
"Turn off machine, then turn it on. You may need service".
Now it seems to work.
Yellow images from yesterday, now appear closer to the original.
Hope this is of interest.

Hi!
Because I did not know.
I am not a printer, and previously only printed when a magazine ordered something for publication (before the Internet allowed images).
Anyway, for now, my yellow toned prints have become almost normal.

Your PM and Cyan are not looking great at all, I’d run a couple of cleaning cycles on that side of the head that contains the two poor colours, then leave it to stand for half an hour and print another nozzle cycle..

Don’t go printing any more test sheets until you can get a good clear nozzle print..

Thank you for helping.
This is the result after another Print Head Cleaning.
The Cyan and Magenta are terrible.
I will now try Deep Cleaning.
A great scam. New maintenance cartridge this week .... now half full.
