Actually, I just cleared a persistent bubble with a turkey baster blowing hard on the inlet screen after pulling out the offending color cart and re-inserting it! Hmmm...
I wish it could be Christmas every day..
Sometimes a very firm stare and a few well-voiced swear words do the trick, too.

Anybody know the "vacuum capability" of these peristaltic pumps? Seems to me it's determined by the "rebound action" of the clear tubing used in the assembly. I woudn't expect it to be much more than 6" of water.

If no one knows, I'm gonna measure it the next time one of my i960's purge units "takes a crap". Probably a month or two from now....

I am curious as to which inks youre using if your only getting a couple of months out of your purge unit before it clogs up.:(

Hobbicolors, but the issue is an annual hose disconnect, not clogging.

Glad to hear it wasnt the ink that is causing the same recurring problem.
Could you not reverse the problematic hose or use the other one instead. ?

Those hoses are really special, don't know where to get the material. The black ones to the purge pad appear to be neoprene or silicone, and the ones in the pump appear to be silicone. I just keep re-attaching them. Next will be a small drop of some sort of goop, or a loop pf tightened wire. Wish the nipples were barbed instead of straight.

Wayne.

I have seen similar silicone tubing at Hobby Shops if you can find a Hobby Shop still in business.

They use it for fuel lines on glow plug motors.
