What spare parts do you think to recover from a broken printer ?

I took a broken printer (for free) on 2 occasions:

- a MX885 in good condition but clogged head: exchanged the head with a 100% good one from a MG5250 (a lesser model, now continuing it's life without photo black)
- last week a MP550 with B200 error but nearly full OEM cartridges (switched the 520/521 chips to 525/526)

The MP610 to recover the scaning part. I bought some months ago an used 610 in working condition who arrived at home with the scanner glass broken. I am considering to transplant the scanning part from the broken one to the working 610.

The MP800 is in working conditon, so no parts to recover, just to use it. I want to stick with CLI8 and PGI-5 carts that are easier to refill

...I purchased a printhead in original packaging for $60...
Was the "original packaging" from china? Then it was probably an "original copy of packaging"
I think this type is out of production, so the honest seller would offer "refurbished". Really "new old stock" models are rare and mostly overpriced.
I would return it to the sender and tell him the printhead is damaged and damages printers.
