Hi
We are a retail shop with 2 shop outlets, refilling 90% of ink cartridges on the market, and a warehouse refilling laser cartridges to supply the shops and online orders, with total of 5 staff.

I found this trick myself for how to show full ink levels for the IP1300 to IP2600 printer when you have refilled them.
It may work for all of the printers that take the 40/41 or 50/51 cartridges but it wont work on the printer/scanner/copiers, only the solely printer ones.

Displaying Ink Levels with
Refilled Canon Cartridges

PG-37, PG-40, PG-50
CL-38, CL-41, CL-51

For

Canon IP 1300 to IP2600
May work on other models using cartridges above

The printer must be left switched on at the wall after resetting the printer, only turn the printer off by the power button on the printer. Each time the printer is switched off at the wall you must follow the instructions and reset the printer.

Part 1
This reset will start working from the second set of refills onwards as long as the printer is not switched off at the wall, only by the printer power button.

1. Turn the printer off at the wall.
2. Hold down the power button on the printer.
3. Turn the printer on at the wall.
4. When the green light next to power button comes on, release the button.
5. Now press the power button again and the printer will power up.

The ink levels will still show as empty for this set of refills. When you insert your next set of refills and any others, the ink levels will show as full and work as if your using new cartridges.

Part 2
If your computer does not display the Printer Status box on the screen when printing then the feature may be disabled. To enable it follow these instructions.

1. Click on the Start button in the corner of the screen.
2. Select Control Panel.
3. Then select Printers.
4. Then with the RIGHT hand mouse button click on your printer icon ONCE.
5. Select Properties at the bottom of the tab that appears.
6. At the top of the box that appears, select Maintenance.
7. Then select View Printer status at the bottom.
8. A new box will appear, select Options then click on Enable Status Monitor.
9. Now Enable Status Monitor should have a tick by it.
10. Now close all the boxes that are open on the screen.

From now on, when you print any document a box will appear showing the printer status and remaining ink levels. If this box is hidden behind the screen you are viewing, click on the bar at the bottom of your screen which says your printer model number while you are printing.

Alternatively follow instructions 1-7 in part 2 and this will display the box showing the Printer Status and remaining Ink Levels.

Don't have these types of printers but appreciate good clear instructions.

Nice post.
