All of them! LOL
1: Not a good idea for any Canon printer. Epson is a much better candidate for a CISS
2: Some may work fine but often they do not.
3: Some many inks. Some great, some good, some terrible.
4: If the CISS unit does not provide sufficient ink flow to the head, it will likely overheat and fail.

Maybe some the true Canon experts ( Definitely not I ) will hopefully be able to give you specific details on this.

Your questions are simple, and many times described. You have to search for answers in this forum and elsewhere.

I would also like to know, if anybody has a ciss in a canon printer and what are the real world problems of canon with a ciss versus epson with a ciss.

martin0reg, I don't have any experience with this, but I think the difference is that in Epson the CIS doesn't connect to a moving part. The tubing the feeds the head is factory-designed to withstand the wear and not to leak.

One other possible failure point on Canon and HP, I suppose, may also be that the tubing puts pressure on the cartridges, and thus on the seal at the base of the cartridges.

In a nutshell a Canon printer fitted with a CISS unit will work very well
but only if it is installed properly and well secured. (Stuck down)

Then to keep it like that you need to twice daily check that everything is in perfect working order
and also check that nothing has shifted or come loose while stationary overnight.

Tick all of the above boxes and it will run trouble free hour after hour indefinitely
but failure to maintain it on a very regular basis will result in very big major headaches.

A CISS is only worth the time and trouble to maintain if you have endless amounts of printing to do
(Thousands) otherwise forget them, they are totally over rated.

I have used them myself on two A3 and two A4 printers and have now switch over
to using refilled OEM cartridges which I find far more comfortable to use.

On the other hand the same printer fitted with at least two sets of refilled OEM cartridges
will do exactly the same job without all of the hassle and heart ache mentioned above
and are 100% more controllable and reliable than any CISS can ever be.

I don't know anything about CISS on an Epson printer only Canon !.

You obviously build your CISS much better from the ground up and know how to fix any weaknesses
before they can cause any problems.. :thumbsup

OEM cartridge is just a short way of saying Canon original cartridges.

The Canon cartridges that came with your printer when you bought it are the best cartridges for refilling,
because they will perform far better than any other cartridge on the market today.

Dont be fooled by the cheap compatible cartridges that flood EBay,
they may not even work once let alone after you refill them several times.

The proper meaning of OEM is Original Equipment Manufacturer
