Does anyone have any experience with the InkTec system for HP 564 and 564XL cartridges? This is the HP system with 5 separate cartridges (Black, CMY, photo black). Any problems, like air in the sponge, ink fading, clogging, etc.? Or tricks for making it work?
The refill kit has a cradle, so you inject ink directly into the sponge at the outlet, and there's no drilling holes or inserting needles. (Sorry, this forum won't let me post a link to an ad with a picture.) Users on Amazon.com have given them very good reviews, so I bought a black kit to try.
I have a new HP PhotoSmart Premium Fax C309a, which blew through completely the first set of cartridges in two months and 64 to 80 pages. I put in a new set of HP "extra-large" cartridges (over $100), but there's no way I'm going to use HP ink after that.
Black was exhausted first. It ran totally dry, and I didn't get to it until the next day. Before I changed to the new HP cartridge, I tried refilling the old one with about 2.5 mL just to try the system. I have to say, refilling was VERY easy. It took a level-3 cleaning to eliminate streaks. It printed fine for a couple of pages and then quit abruptly. I think it just ran out of ink again, but I suppose there could have been air in the sponge or some other problem. I didn't experiment further to find out.
Anybody have any experience with this ink or this refill system? I like the filling method, but I might as well ask as long as I have time.
