Isn't the UK in the EU? And isn't Websnail in the UK? Doesn't that mean that he could get KMP Pigment black ink? Doesn't that mean he could sell it to those of us in the US that otherwise haven't found a way to get it? Somebody should ask him.

UK is member of the EU, even its denomination is the Pound Sterling. I often order some products from the UK and I do not have to pay custom fees, as the UK is part of the European unified market.

They discovered the old pigment black ink was no longer available and substituted the dye black ink instead without telling me.
I had a similar experience - It was disturbing. The reason I suspected the ink might be different was because the printed code on the side of the containers in question were covered by inkjetcartridge.com's adhesive labels. When I peeld back the label it had the same ID number as the other black.
So it appeared that they deliberately tried to hide the fact that they subbed something else. No note or mention of it.
The person I spoke with @ inkjetcartridge.com said he didn't think there was any difference in the 2 inks and I explained that I thought there was - one was pigment and one was dye. He said he thought it'd be fine to use the dye. I said I didn't think it would be the right thing to do.
Anyway, he said he'd credit my VISA for the 'subbed' inks. Haven't checked my statement tho...
I guess I'll try Hobbicolors since that's in the US.
Can I just put ithe ink into the syringe from inkjetcartridge.com and take it from there? I think Hobbicolors is a bigger bottle (not the little 'single serving' inkjetcartridge.com type of container, no?
Also, anyone know the exact ordering number or ID for the Hobbicoiors pigment black?
Best regards to all...

Make sure the pigment ink has the code PMT (Pigment) and not PMD (Pigmented, thus partially dye). PMT is pure pigment and completely waterproof.

Thanks Pharmacist,
I know it's been tossed around on this forum, but do you know if KMP-PMT pigment ink is available in the US?

I called inkjetcartridge.com today to find out if the reason the BCI-3eBk ink was no longer being manufactured was because it had a clogging problem and I was told, no, it was simply because the market had dried up for it.

They also are going to send me a package to return the ink that was substituted and give me a refund. Can't ask for better customer service than that.

I also tested the PGI-5Bk ink and it is indeed 100% pigment.

Hi ghwellsjr,
Do you have ny preference between the inktec PGI-5Bk and Hobbicolors pigment black ink?
Is the PGI-5Bk in a bigger container than the other Hobbicolors colors?
Also, would anyone happen to know the Hobbicolors item number?
Best regards to all.

As I said in post #19, I wouldn't use Inktec PGI-5Bk black pigment ink. The only reason I bought some was so that I could test it to see if it has the same clogging problem as the BCI-3eBk black pigment ink. But since the BCI-3eBk ink is no longer available, it makes doing a comparison test significantly more difficult and I'm not sure I will even do it now. So I would stay away from all Inktec pigment ink.

I just bought a 32 oz bottle of pigment ink from Precision Colors which supplies Image Specialists ink. Hobbicolors also has a very good reputation but they won't say who their supplier is which means they could switch at any time. That is the only reason I went with Precision Colors.

But, as I said in post #21, I would rather use KMP pigment black ink but I can't get it here in the USA.

Missed this for some reason but now on the case..

Ok... did a little digging and sent off an enquiry to the primary manufacturer so I'll let you know if it's feasible...
