Back to the original discussion:
Martin asked about my (reliable) sponge less CISS.
I personally think sponge less is the only way to go on the tight Canon printers after testing various CISS back in the days.
They have a good air buffer technology, don´t leak, and the pressure seems fine on the printhead.
I posted back then on another name since I forgot my original username:
this is the CISS:

I originally found them after extensive research on Alibaba.
Then I found them at these guys in GERMANY:

If You order, make shire You get an empty sponge less set (since they also sell sets pre filled and with sponge).

Now back to the ink topic.

Would it be possible to "dilute" the pigment ink a bit? I read that somewhere.

diluting the ink will reduce the gamut, will reduce the acheivable max color saturation. I wouldn't think you are intending that.

you probably can mix inks, but what is the intention then ? You would loose the benefit of the pigment inks, their logenvity/UV stability to the degree as you mix them.

At the moment a Dye print lasts~6 weeks if not sealed/covered.
I think even with diluted pigment I gain at least a year.

Any experiences here with mixing ratios?
