Can anyone recommend me an inkjet printer that will allow me to print on labels that are feed in by rolls?
Something like this guy

I would like to be able to refill the ink as well.

PS: I'm actually running 2 IP4500s...can they accept rolls? Is it an hardware or software issue?

This is essentially the same problem as printing banners. See this thread.
Thanks for the link and confirmation. It doesnt look like the ip4500 will do rolls. Are you familiar with any other type of inkjet that will?

ROX..
As far as I can make out the only answer to your problem is the same as mine.
Large format 610mm wide, far too expensive for such small usage in my case..
:(

You can find some Epson R800s in good shape floating around. these have roll feeds. Maybe these will work. As best I can tell these were the only small letter size printers that offered roll feed. I could be wrong though.

I don't know how the printer driver will accomodate the roll aspect at the beginning of the print job though as I have never used roll media.

I used an Epson 950 long time ago which had rolled paper on the back and a cutter on the front and when you wanted to print you just told the printer what size you wanted to print and it cut the paper at that size. simples

@ mikling and The Hat, thank you for the help.

This printer will be used for work so I can justify paying for it even if it cost 1,500USD and up. But one thing thats very important to me, probably everyone else on this forum, is being able to refill the ink. I cant be competitive in my pricing if my labels are expensive due to cost of ink cartridges.

Any idea what this cartridge is and if its refillable? On the spec sheet it says "HP Vivera Ink" But Ive never seen an HP cartridge look like this.

It's a cartridge from one of the better HP Office or Pro series. You can get refillable cartridges for these but you may want to check if the required chip is available and whether or not the printer can accept. It is a modded HP printer.
