Guess it's pretty obvious OPEC is emulating the Canon/Epson/HP cartel when it comes to pricing.

Price if oil goes DOWN Buck per barrel at the wellhead. Next day our local Esso station hikes retail price of gas 2 cents per litre (about 7.6 cents per gallon for our US friends). Our government assures us that is how the free enterprise works and prices are kept low due to intense competition. ;-)

Hmmm, that means that $72 I just paid for a Mp990 with those 5 carts (plus an additional grey cart) breaks down like:
$66 for ink
$6 for the printer?

HaHa - It's called Canon's gift to itself that keeps on giving. (if you use OEM ink)

My quick count is 37 Carts used since 15th Jan this year.
Retail OEM carts in Canada about $22 incl taxes.
Cost of refills less than $2.00 per cart.
Colour quality with profiling - equal if not better in every respect.

And my colleagues at the local camera club think I am the one who is nuts. Go figure!
