Hellow

Could someon help out with the following problem.

On the HP DeskJet 660c Printers, when we install new cartridges the
printing head is not able to return back to the printhead bay after
putting in the new cartridge. When I open the top cover the cartridges
are able to move to the middle but when the cover is closed nothing
happens. I have tried to remove the cartridges and then open the cover
and close it without cartridges installed but still they are not able to
move back to the bay. I have tried to clean both the transparent stripe
and the copper circuit on the printing head but nothing happens. When I
connect it to the computer and try to print the power light just keep on
blinking. Nothing moves.

From your message it sounds like the printer does not like one of the cartridges, if the cartrdige came with tape you should check that it is removed, and if that is not the problem the cartridge you have installed may be faulty. You could try cleaning the contacts at the back of the cartridge (not the printhead underneath) with a cloth dampened with water or alcohol, if these contacts are dirty the printhead may be seen by the printer to be faulty, the contacts will not necessarily look dirty. If the problem happens with two different sets of cartridges then perhaps you have an electronic failure with the printer.
