HP B9180 ink suggestions

I am about to come into possession of a nice HP B9180 and I am trying to figure out what ink to get. I don't think I want to sell a kidney just to get the HP stuff, so I have been looking around at the 3rd party stuff. I am probably going with a CIS system. Anyhow, a lot of people seem to recommend Hefger, but that is really expensive too. The only other recommendations I could find on the web were for Image Specialists ink from Precisioncolors.com and MIS ink from inksupply.com. These two are very comparable in price. I also found NewVision III ink from inkjetcarts.us which is a similarly priced and Vintax ink from kysonusa which is by far the cheapest.

Anybody have any experience with any of these? Any other suggestions that I am missing?

I guess any help in the ink supply system department would be appreciated too. I had planned on using the Vintax CIS from KysonUSA because I read it was working for a few people and it is pretty cheap. Any other CIS suggestions? I am also open to refillable cartridges, but from reading it seems like they can be a little more trouble.

Any help or personal experiences will be much appreciated. I have been wasting hours upon hours searching on this subject the last few days. There just isn't a lot of info on this subject for the B9180.

One thing: forget Kyson USA and why bother about a CISS ? The HP B9180 already uses an internal CISS system.

Precisioncolors.com, MIS and Inkjetcarts.us all do sesl the famous Image Specialits ink. I use this ink in my Epson Pro 3800 (same inkset as the Epson R2400) and the results are stunning similar.

You will need to spend some extra money in good refillable cartridges and also in good refill ink. KysonUSA once made such horrible mistake in promoting a "pigment" CISS system for the Canon i9900/i9950 with ink that was completely translucent. All, who have some physics background, this is impossible. It was just dye ink promoted as pigment. Pigment ink is allways opaque and one who denies this fact also denies something like gravity in the universe.

Thank you for your quick reply. So you are saying that MIS and inkjetcarts inks are both Image Specialists inks? And I suppose that IS ink is good quality and that way to go? Are there any other inks I should consider?

On the Kyson pigment inks... I read the concerns about the translucent pigment inks. I spoke to a Kyson rep and he told me that that special pigment ink was specially formulated for printers that used dye based inks. He assured me that used a traditional pigment based ink for the B9180 since it is a pigment ink printer.

As far as the CIS vs refillable cartridges, I figured that I would have to refill the CIS less often because it holds more than the refillable cartridges. Any suggestions for good refillable cartridges?

The first one is just a lie. Maybe I am rude, but a cow must be called a cow and not a horse. There are already several rather bad reviews about the translucent pigment inks for the Canon printers, that might print well, but faded very quickly. Not only at this forum, but also at some other well-known forums. Very strange if this is presumed to be pigment, not if it is just ordinary and cheap dye ink.

Now convince me to purchase from somebody who already made a more than obvious lie... They say something about the "first impression". One could made a negative comment about a manufacturer about the products, can be bad mouthing from the competitor, so one can give it a try yourself, but not if the very first claim is just scientifical complete nonsense: complete translucent pigment inks.

I agree with all that. I was just letting you know what he said. Anyway, so all three of those other inks are the same IS inks? Anybody have any cartridge suggestions?
