I used to have a Canon Pixma 3000. Using remanufactured cartridges was a breeze and cheap as heck. That
printer failed a little while ago and I've since been using the HP F4489 multipurpose Deskjet. I bought a few remanufactured cartridges also. However, when I attempt to use one of the remanufactured cartridges I get a little amber light which indicates a problem and the printer refuses to operate. I assume that the new printer uses some kind of chip system to identify remanufactured or refilled cartridges. Can anyone tell me if this is so, and whether the system can be defeated in some way? Thanks for any help! Dorian
