Hi.
My (old) SC P900 now prints perfectly on all cylinders but the magenta and I will covert it to print B&W with QTR with the known limitations. I will need 6 cylinders for B&W carbon inkset- check. (could go with less!!)
For the last 2 weeks i have printed with a new clean set of catridges with "Windex". All colors still looks normal. How long time or how many prints will it take to empty the lines so the new Carbon ink will reach the nozzles.
I know the printer uses a lot of ink for priming and that ink need to be replaced by new ink. Will I print a lot of pictures or will I do a lot of cleaning to get to the new ink?

Thanks in advance

Carsten

you will need to force about 5-6 cleaning cycles in order to push out the old ink and prime the tubing and dampers with the new ink. Best to do it in a row, otherwise the diffusion speed can mix the old with the new ink, giving a annoying gradient in printing between old en new ink.

Thanks Phamacist. And now, when we are discussing the p900. Do you know what dilution to use in Paul Roarks Carbon inkset, when it comes til GY and LGY (LK and LLK). I want to be able to print through QTR and also Epson Print Layout so the Carbon I put in the GY and LGY should match Epson ink. Roark is not 100% specific about this. He says they can be as Cyan and light Cyan 30% and 9% and he also mentions Magenta and Light Magenta 18% and 6%. Furthermor he emphesizes that there should not be more than 30% steps. (100%,30%,18%,9%,6%,2% in his 6 inkset) Some years you started this thread. Was there a conclusion then or later?
