Hot-Bed cover...

When I first got my Ender2 3D printer it came with this self-adhesive hot-bed cover, and for the first week or so I didn’t bother to use it, but then I decided to give it a try out, and if it didn’t work I could always pull it off again.

Well it’s been on there ever since and it’s coping very well with every project, I wrongly taught it wouldn’t last a month but its proving to be very durable and long lasting, in fact I can recommend them to anyone who’s looking for something good and reliable to use....

I've debated trying out these various bed products that are like build-tak, etc. I was super happy with blue tape until I discovered glue on glass. I'm happy with that... but now wondering if there are still better things out there.

Do you have to heat that bed, or will PLA stick to it fine if it's cold?

You may laugh, but I can get the same item in the EU or US for two and times the price +++ P&P, that trebles the cost, but the delay is here in our customs and not the slow boat from China..

I have never tried it without heat, but the surface is good at holding your project if you squish the first layer, I use 50c and a one second spray of 3DLAC Adhesive, and it never fails...
Anyway, what is it about heat that you dont like, if its the delay then start your print first and then add the heat later = no delay..

I just haven't ever needed it, so I can't see any benefits to having to wait for the bed to heat up and/or wasting the electricity if I don't need to.

Well if your happy with glue sticks as I was at one time, then continue with them, but its always better to have a backstop, just in case...
I reckon time is far more expensive than electricity is, I can’t afford to waist the time I have left..

They are a good print base by all accounts. Just clean it now and then with Isopropyl or even some soapy water and it should work well. I'm still using my pei sheet on the magnetic plate and it has been perfect.
