It's so fun to see people tinker with stuff like that. In a lot of ways, stuff like this might seem pointless to a lot of people, but they don't realize that this kind of experimentation pushes the envelope and innovation.

"A design exercise"? This is incredibly cool! The design itself is very solid, and the print it produced looks fantastic! A project like this truly deserves much more recognition.

May I ask a few curious questions? What guides your design choices for mounting all the components? I imagine you already know the parts you need, nozzles, encoders, microcontroller, etc. and roughly where they should go. But how do you go about designing the overall framework? You seem to incorporate very organized and numerous pieces. Does it mainly come from planning how everything will fit together?

This is truly superb!!
