Last March I changed my G2010 Colour ink head as it decided to burn out it's magenta and yellow heads one fine day ( https://www.printerknowledge.com/threads/g2010-is-this-print-head-a-goner.16412/ )

Fast forward one and a half year and yesterday the printer again decided to but out the magenta and cyan head. Is this some sort of printer issue or just low quality canon spare parts? I have been extra careful this time as to not run the printer dry without ink in the tubes and also regularly printed random things to keep the heads running. I did a Deep Clean and even removed the cartridge and blew air into it to make the ink come out, a bit came out but that's it. No improvement on prints. Not even 1000 pages and the head is gone.

What it should print vs what it prints

I am using the printer in grayscale mode until Amazon delivers the new printhead.

I hope that you purchased it from a genuine dealer who gets that printhead directly from Canon.

It seems that lifespan of Canon printheads hasn't improved lately, rather on the contrary...

Yes, the previous one was an OEM packed unit (without the outer cardboard box) which I bought from Canon Service Center.
The one I bought now is a retail unit directly sold and shipped by Amazon.
