Yeah, it's been a bit of a nightmare.
The server company is saying that traffic increased, but all my visitor / activity levels have stayed perfectly consistent. The ONLY change was their "upgrade"... which they are giving me zero information about. I'm actively looking at other hosting options... but again, moving is a pain and costly!
(also, they all got the same software updates spaced a few days apart, and there were no issues with them with the software updates).
I'm about 99% sure it's a hosting / server problem, and 90% sure it's related to the "upgrade" they did.
Side note: www.BackYardChickens.com is hosted with a totally different company on a separate server because that site is a monster and I don't want it impacting the smaller sites and vice versa.
Basically, I try to keep changes isolated and spaced-out. We did the software update in December, and everything was running pretty smoothly for 3 months until the day the server company decided to do an "upgrade"... then things QUICKLY and IMMEDIATELY went south. Maybe the timing is coincidence, but I really doubt it!Have you been able to determine if the event's origin were internal (forum hardware/software) or external (eg Layer 7 attack)?

Yes! I host all of my "smaller" sites (including PK) on one server. All of the sites experienced the same downtime and slowness right after the server "upgrade".More than one of your web sites was affected besides PrinterKnowledge? Did all the affected sites receive the server upgrade? On the same server? Was it just your web sites affected or were other people's sites affected that use the same host?
