Hey all,

I try to install new cartridges, but printer does not recognize any ink cartridges.

I added new ink cartridges but now the printer says there are no ink cartridges in the machine.

Ink were more than 50% orginal cartridges and now its not recognize even orginal ink cartridges.

Attached image of the screen.

I do not know about the printer firmware version.

Printer model is Epson Stylus Pro 3880 2011.

EPSON LFP Remote Panel can not connect to the device.

Can someone tell me whats the problem?

The solution would obviously reset the printer.

Does anyone have any instructions on how to reset the printer?

This is the problem:

Ink Cartridge Error
Error/Warning Statuses Displayed/Indicated on/by LCD/LED
Power Light
Paper Status Off
Ink Status Light
Nro: 29 No Ink Cartridge
NO INK CARTRIDGE INSTALL INK CARTRIDGE
Ink cartridge sensor
CSIC that stores ink Type:
CSIC Ink cartridge sensor cartridge information Voltage:3.3 VDC ± 5 %

I tried this way, but it did not help.

I am not very familiar with Epson printers, but you could try the same procedure as in the video that you posted, but this time after removing all the ink carts and maintenance cart, power off the printer for 5 minutes. (Unplugged).

Then try powering on the printer with nothing installed and slowly adding everything back, this should cause a reset...

Thanks for the advice. I tried but it did not help. Are there any other way resetting Epson 3880?

Thanks for the link.

I bought the Epson Pro 3880 Service Adjustment Program. However, I can not even connect to the printer with the software program
because the printer indicates no inkcartridge error.

I just wondered how the service personnel can fix it if the printer can not be contacted even with the adjustme program?

Epsons, Canons, Brother.
Couple of things to try.

If you have access to a fiberglass scratch brush, use it on the tops of all the ink carts on the gold contacts. Sometimes some crud gets on them and can throw up a multiple cart "ink cart not seen error." Seems my Magenta Vivid and I think the Yellow seem to affect some others at times.

Also, some guitar stores also sell something called "CAIG DeoxIT Gold G5" which helps with contacts. Radio Shack sold it too, but so much for finding them anymore, but Guitar world carries it now for about $20 can (Which lasts forever.).

Also, try wiggling some of the carts with the printer on and the ink hood up and see if the LCD flashes a bit like it cannot make its mind up if you wiggle a cart. I've stuck a piece of felt under a couple of carts to help lift them up into making contact with the pins in the printer. I've used a lot of those refillable carts in my 3880s and they seem to have an issue with the fitment of the 'cart-to-contacts' with them. Sometimes I've slammed the ink hood an gotten an ink cart error, only to have it clear if I slam it again so some cart isn't meshing up right.

Good luck.

W.F.
