Epson Refillables Storage Question

I have two sets of non-oem refillables for my Artisan 800. Is there a need to "seal" the ink outlets for refilled carts not "stored in the printer"? If so, how? The refillables came with a thin plastic film over the outlets that was pierced when installed.

I suggest Tupperware or similar air tight sealing box. The smaller, the better.
