The maintenance tank T5820 on Epson Pro 3880 was full.
I removed this tank and introduced a new tank.
But this tank is refused!
I purchased a second new tank but this is refused too!

I did put some layers of tape on the right side of tank to ensure that a contact with the chip on the tank is certain.
No solution.

What can I do?
Thanks for reply!

If it's a genuine Epson maintenance tank I would contact the supplier to clarify the situation.

I don't have a good idea - it's either a hardware/contact problem or some weird incompatibility between the printer firmware and the chip of the new maint. tank.
I think you should contact Epson for help.

Epson, Canon, HP... A "few"
Did some digging back and can't find any historical mention of issues with the 3800 series so it's not a "known" error or particularly prevalent.

Might be worth checking the chip contacts on the internal bay that the maintenance box goes into. Signs of ink spatter, other soiling, fluff on the contacts, etc... It might be a short across a couple of the contacts or possibly something has gotten bent/broken.

All best guesses but hopefully you'll find the cause soon.

I looked for possible dirt etc. on the chip contacts.
No such thing!

It still doesn't function.

Try putting the old maintenance tank back in and see what happens, that will tell you a lot, and maybe you can take it from there..

I did put the old -tank back.
I get exactly the same message "that the tank needs to be replaced by a new one".
I have tried 2 new tanks;

So its reading and acknowledging the old cart but won’t accept the new ones, then there must be something wrong with the chips or its an incorrect cartridge for your model printer, send them back and try to get an OEM cart from Epson...

The old tank Is also no longer accepted.

As I wrote before when I noticed that the new tank was not accepted I purchased another new T5820 tank again.
But this wasn't accepted either!
I purchased the Pro 3880 after my Pro 3800 also did cause too many problems.
Although the 3880 is a fine printer it also causes constant little problems, which so far I always could solve.

But this problem with the T5820 tank seems to announce the end of my 3880!
This seems to be an effective way for Epson to force customers to renew printers regularly
