I have looked at the print head of these new printers and there is a very small gap between housing and the printhead with cartridges installed. Not only are these cartridges low in size (and oblongated compared to the previous models) but the gap between housing and the upper surface is incredibly tight (maybe 2 mm or so). Did Epson deliberately designed these printers to make CISS installation almost impossible ?

I would put money on it... They've copied the approach Canon have introduced with their own printers...

Still n'all, impossible? Probably not, but if the idea is to put off people who would be nervous about installing something "non-standard" on their printer, it's a pretty easy way of achieving it.
