Nearly all the new cheap Epson CIS have a button you press to simulate cartridge removal. IMO this is great because removing cartridges was always the main cause of ink flow and head problems.

Powering off won't make any difference... The newer chips require a physical disconnection from the printer powered on or off before they will reset..
Actual that is not the case with our chips, multi-chip is never removed, when the printer issues a warning you merely turn the power off to reset.
Would this be generation 6 of the chips? I've lost track of the different version numbers to be honest..

Exactly, version 6, reset by turning power off after printer has issued warning.

Here is an image of the front and back of the Black cartridge's chip for the Epson Artisan 700 thru 810

YangStar, check the chip version, if it is indeed the version 5.01 ask your vendor if you can upgrade to version 6.0, it is very stable.

Good luck
