Been told that my printer requires new printer head. Epson want £225 for a new one. Has anyone purchased a compatible head from Alibaba and any problems?

Forget it, just buy a new printer because Epson print head are not easy replaceable..
Alibaba heads are fake..

Been told that my printer requires new printer head.

Why ? What was the problem that somebody told you so - Epson quoting the 225 Pds price tag ? What had been done prior to this conclusion ? Replacing a printhead is possible and not that difficult with some prior experience and practice, the reconnection of the flat cable can be a little bit tricky .

Make sure you buy new. Refurbs are risky. Alibaba or Aliexpress might be ok - check seller feedback.

Often, the new heads are removed from (new) dismantled printers, if they guarantee that, should be ok.

Give your pinter a full hydraulic clean (make sure lines flow cleanly). If not, a fine wire gently into the input of the damper may help clean the flow path. Also, the flex lines may need 'rodding' with a fine wire. youtube may have some advisory vids -
