Ever since I had my Epson 1270 I've been scoping on printing out a maximum sized panoramic photo.
I've gone through the 1270, a 1280 and now have a 1400.
I also finally have a few stitched panoramic photos that are worth the effort.
I would now like to try printing some of them.
The 1400 does not have a roll paper spool like what came with the 1270.
But, it does have a custom size option that allows up to ~13" X 44".

Question #1:
I assume that I could cut a roll into 44" max lengths and then feed them through the 1400's paper tray for printing.
Correct?

Question #2:
I've just received a set of Precision Color dye inks for the 1400.
If I start printing the 13x44 with full cartridges there should be enough ink in the cartridges to finish the job.
Right?

I'm looking at the Epson R2000 and am drooling a little bit.
But, I have found only one potential aftermarket ink for this printer.
I do not remember its name right now.
But, It seemed to be premium priced ink.

Question #3:
What is the prognosis for aftermarket inks becoming available for the R2000 printer?

All of them! LOL
I don't see why you couldn't feed your individually cut sheets though the 1400 regular feed. So long as the custom size has been properly set up and the paper can feed styraight throughout its 44 inch travel.

Should be plenty of ink. I get many, many 13 x19s from a set before having to refill any cart.

There will be 3rd party support for both the R2000 and th R3000 more than likely by the end of this month though several sources.

I have seen some one converted its 3800 to take roll papers (turns it to 4800), so same trick should be good for 1400.

YES. Precision color has very good dye inks from IS.

absolutely.

InkRepublic should be the first one shipping these new printers from epson R2000, R3000...

no price information at this point. But both their IRK4-nano and Dye inks are the best inks in this industry. The dye ink has great longevity, much better than IS and other dye inks which may fade quickly. Some people post their test results "cant remember which sites" with many different dye inks and found IR's high dye is the best.
