DPP and PSP not seeing my new TR4775i printer.

I have a new TR4775i printer but cannot use with Digital Photo Professional and Print Studio Pro as the printer is not seen by the apps and I cannot find a way of adding it. All networking is ok as I can print, scan and copy etc from my Mac settings. I like these apps as I can change page layouts etc before printing. Am I asking too much of this printer? I learn that there is no driver for this printer as it uses AirPlay instead. Any suggestions?

There are drivers and AFAIK Apple Air Print is not designed for use with those two applications as it is intended to allow you to quickly print directly without first downloading drivers.

Download the drivers and install properly following the recommended procedures. Also worthwhile downloading the manual!

Yet your issue may not be a driver issue when the printer is not recognized. Here are some generic steps that may helps:

Confirm how the printer is connected​

The TR4775i can be added three different ways. Only one needs to work.

Preferred (most reliable on Mac)​

• Wi-Fi (same network as Mac)

Also works​

• USB cable (temporary setup)
• Ethernet (if your unit supports it)

If Wi-Fi is flaky, USB is the fastest way to force macOS to recognize the printer.

Verify the printer is actually on your network​

On the printer’s control panel:

• Print a Network Status / WLAN Report
• Confirm:
  • It has an IP address (not 0.0.0.0)
  • It’s on the same subnet as your Mac (usually 192.168.x.x)

If the printer is on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, make sure your Mac isn’t isolated on a guest or 5 GHz–only VLAN.

Try adding it the correct way in macOS​

Go to:


System Settings → Printers & Scanners → Add Printer (+)

What you should see​

• Name: Canon TR4775i
• Kind: AirPrint
• Use: AirPrint (important)

If you see it → select it → click Add


If you do NOT see it → continue below

Force detection using the IP address (this fixes many cases)​

If Bonjour/AirPrint discovery fails:

1. In Add Printer, click the IP tab
2. Enter:
   • Address: (from printer network report, e.g. 192.168.1.45)
   • Protocol: AirPrint
   • Name: Canon TR4775i
   • Use: AirPrint
3. Click Add

This bypasses auto-discovery entirely and often works immediately.
