I have a canon MG6360 printer and am using refillable cartridges. Lately all my printing is 3 lines of double print then 2 lines of good print and continues in that fashion for the full document. I have done all the head cleaning and alignment drills but to no avail. Would it be worth it to send in for a service or simply buy another printer?

The printer uses bi-directional printing, so the print head has nozzle sets for both directions of print head travel. It looks to me like one nozzle set for pigment black is dirty/partially clogged. Could you upload a scan of a nozzle check?

Thanks Peter for your quick response. Have attached a print test. Not a very good image but it shows the black where the problem is.

Thanks The Hat, I'll use the workaround until I can get it serviced as I don't know how to get to the timing strip.
Again, the quick response is great.

The nozzle check of the PGBK nozzles appears to be from nozzle erosion (wear). I assume you have used this printer for a lot of text printing? The matrix of this nozzle check is typically printed in one pass (not bidirectionally).

Yes, have done a lot of printing. A replacement is only $179 so it's cheaper to buy new than service.
