I've been looking for an overview of the differences between the 9500 and the 9500 MK2. All I can find from Canon is something about the firmware and the color management. Are those the only differences or are there more? Maybe differences in ink usage?

And would it be justified to pay like euro 50 - 75 more for a used 9500 MK2 over a 9500 (assuming they are of similar age and usage)?

Check your Canon website to see what drivers are available. You will notice the 9500 is not supported by Win10 while the 9500 MK2 is supported. If you are considering updating your OS at some future date, then you may want to take this into account in your purchase decision.

It’s your decision but the Pro 9500 MK2 is a clear winner and I reckon worth every penny..;)

I had a 9500 first, it consumed a terrible amount of ink for cleaning.
After the printhead died (very soon) I bought a 9500 II, ink consumption is very reasonable.

Print quality is the same.

The 9500 printhead was nr QY6-0065, in the 9500 II it is replaced by nr QY6-0077 (also spare for 9500).

The 9500 was Canon's first small format (A3/A3+) photo printer using pigment ink and IMO an immature product, corrected afterwards with the Mark II.

Thank you all for the replies.

So, if it's going to be a 9500 then it must be the Mark II. I'm also looking at an Epson R2880, which also seems like a good choice.

I have no experience at all with Epson printers. Is the R2880 at the same level as the 9500 mkII?
