Actually: I would through them away, including the printer. Same for Lexmark with the older 3-in-1 colour cartridges. The newer individual cartridges of Lexmark (Canon design: separate printhead and inktanks comparable to BCI-6/CLI-8/CLI-521, but no photo black, thus less contrast in photo printing) are an improvement.

Yes, I agree, just wish my customers would consult with me before they go out and buy a new printer. I did inform them that they made an unwise choice, when they called and asked if their cartridges could be refilled.
