Canon were, BUT 3D is better..
I retreated to my shed to get over my K9 loss, (Don't ask) and got stuck into converting my good upgrade idea into a better one, i.e. trying to cut down on the vibration caused by head movement on the hot nozzle gantry.

[IMG] This is what I came up with originally (Shower piping)... not good.

It didn’t look great so I installed the proper box aluminium to the side but I reckoned the first position I had it in might restrict the gantry (Z movement) as it climbed up to do taller prints.

But by adding a small piece of the box Aluminium on each side of the uprights I was able to attach a 50 cm extension to it and across to the back wall, the current print wasn’t affected by the upgrade but will benefit from it as it get taller.

Untitled-6.jpg This is a piece of my Lamp Standard..
These extension pieces are far better this time because there’re at the back of the printer and don’t get in the way like my very first idea did..

I reckon I can say with some confidence that it was success.. No issues so far...Two prints further along..

I reckon my Auld CR-10 was feeling the strain of printing day and night and I noticed the fan inside the power supply had stopped working and the whole control box was getting very hot, so I had to place an external fan beside the box to finish out one of my projects.

When I removed the power supply to replace the fan, I decide not to put the power unit back inside the control box and place it externally on the back wall, this meant I had to extend all the power cables to the outside with much longer ones.

All went well till I powered on the control box and found the Hot bed would not heat manually but would automatically but would not cool down again, after many an hour probing around I discovered I had reversed the polarity on the MOSFET somehow.

Once I reversed the cables I was able to get back to printing my next section of my standard lamp, I also installed a temporary fan to the outside of the power supply, until a new one arrives from China.. I should have made this upgrade a long time ago, all’s well that ends well…
P.S. Mrs The Hat is thinking of getting me a new Digby…:celebrate
