So, I read all kinds of horror stories about the Creality CR-10 having a somewhat delicate Micro SD card slot. Many people suggest getting one of these Micro SD TO SD Card Extension Cables: http://amzn.to/2AbOzQ3
I like the larger SD card format and have a bunch of old small ones around anyway, so it worked perfectly.
I didn't like the cable lose, so I printed one of these:

I did a quick edit in Tinkercad to cut a hole towards the top so I could access the USB port.
I print from USB through CURA (often still using version 15.04.06 because I love that it uses Pronterface as an interface) for short prints under an hour or two. I rarely have problems with short prints from my Windows 10 machine, and even if I do, it's not a big waste... plus, the convenience of not using the SD card all the time is nice.
Now when I do use the SD card for prints over 2 hours, I have a super nice convenient way to do so:
