I don't know if I should just replace it with a new one, or try to figure out exactly where the break might be and possibly solder it or something.
It’s much easily to just cut the damaged heater off where its comfortable to solder on a new one, at least that way the problem is solved for once and for all..

Yup, I might give that a go... especially since I have an extra cartridge sitting around.
