Thanks everyone for the advice- I think I will buy new CLI-521 carts and transfer the chips to them so I am sure that they are fresh. Should I better getting sharp needles rather than blunt?
Either one. I have used only blunt needles and and have had zero issues stemming from their use. There is no advantage with sharp needles other than opinion. However, there is a potential downside to sharp needles - increased risk of injury from needle sticks.

Whatever you get will work as long as it is at least 2 inches / 50 mm in length. Gauge of the needle from 18-21 for ease of use most often mentioned on the forum.

In all it must have cost me an additional 120-130 euros.
What did you buy?
I bought from OctoInkjet who is in the UK. I guess there is another supplier for the USA. The refill kit costs about 74 euros excluding shipping. As far as I can reckon the ink quality is very good.

Yes, Image Specialists inks are excellent, as is Octoinkjet.

I take it the balance of your expense was for the printer? Otherwise, I figured you either bought a LOT of ink or you were ripped off.

Hope you have as much fun and satisfaction from refilling as I do. :thumbsup

Lol no the printer cost much more ..the rest were for scalpel, some sets of empty cartridges, some syringes ...

So far I have enjoyed it and it was pretty clean and fast .

That's what we like to hear. You'll have even more fun not worrying about whether to print or not because of cost and telling everybody it cost only a a dollar or so to refill instead of $15 for a new cartridge. :ya
